Why OCuLink beats Thunderbolt for AI
OCuLink exposes raw PCIe lanes, so there is no controller in the middle and far less overhead than a Thunderbolt enclosure. For local LLMs that means your graphics card's VRAM and compute are available at close to desktop speed. It is a popular upgrade for GMKtec and MINISFORUM boxes with an OCuLink port.
You'll need: a mini PC or laptop with an OCuLink port (or an M.2-to-OCuLink adapter), a desktop graphics card and an ATX or SFX power supply. GPU and PSU are not included.
